Our HR Manager Erly (photo) recently received from the provincial authorities in Negara an unusual award : our hotel has been selected as the best company in West Bali in terms of social protection of our staff including health and retirement plans. The prize also rewards the regularity in the payment of social charges. Since its opening in 2002, Dajuma has developped a social protection for its employees at a time where the government of Indonesia was not so advanced on this question. A private social plan was covering health issues as well as retirement plans. Now the situation is different: like in other countries, companies pay every month social charges in percentage of the salaries, in exchange of which the administration covers both health and retirement expenses
The New Year Eve at Dajuma did not escape the tradition this year: a wonderful set-up in the garden, 3 orchestras to help our guests discovering the beauty and the diversity of the traditional Balinese music, particularly this vibrating Jegog music generated from bamboos and originated from a small village of West Bali close to the hotel. A plus this year: the second orchestra was composed of young musicians, most of them being the children of our employees, not even born when the hotel was created 12 years ago. A great moment for them and for us!
The orchestras accompanied many dances performed by dancers of the school of dance of Pekutatan under the magistral guidance of our dear Guru Agung. A fascinating show given by gracious dancers richly dressed!
Finally our guests appreciated a delicious dinner with, among many other dishes, the famous Babi Guling, monument of the Balinese cuisine. On the stroke of midnight, fireworks were launched from the beach for the greatest pleasure of our guests’ children.
Over 400 trail bikers from Bali, Java and Sumatra gave themselves appointment in Pekutatan this week to share their passion on the trails of West Bali. The route chosen by the organizers was particularly ambitious: Starting point on the Pekutatan beach and finish the evening in Bedugul near the famous temple of Ulu Danu. And return the next day to Pekutatan by different paths. A unique opportunity for them to discover the natural treasures of West Bali. Many bikers have chosen Dajuma as a resting place, creating some animation in the hotel with parking invaded by the latest models of trail bikes.
Thanks to a close cooperation with Greenpearls (http://www.greenpearls.com/) and after a stringent evaluation performed by TÜV Nord and the WWF, our hotel has been selected among the top 10 in the category Travel of the prestigious Green Tec Award 2015.

Puri Dajuma has recently gained its 4 stars from the Indonesian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI). This classification is given after an indepth audit of the hotel procedures and practices, where the service to the guests is weighing for 50%, the management for 30% and the equipment for 20%. It crowns 10 years of effort from its staff to bring the most attentive service to its guests with a top class equipement very respectful of our exceptional natural environment. Congratulations guys!
Because of its unique location close to the sea and nature, where it is so easy to forget everything about the hectic occidental life, the choice was made from the beginning of Dajuma to avoid TV screens in the rooms. What does not mean that TV and cinema are forbidden at Dajuma ! On the contrary, Dajuma offers to its guests a comfortable home cinema which recently enriched with a 60 inch LED screen. A huge library of DVDs in all languages completes the Indovision satellite TV which is covering more than 100 TV channels from all around the world. For all nationalities and tastes !
The traditional Balinese rice barn is emblematic of the Island of Gods. Tourists who are visiting Bali for the first time are always impressed by this small hut, well planted on its 6 pillars, so beautiful with its thatched roof amidst the rice paddies. The farmers are used to store their rice crop in it, well protected against rats and other rodents. Dajuma recently renovated its rice barns with a new thatched roof on the top but, at the difference with local farmers, they are not used for storing the rice but for offering the most exotic and romantic stay to honeymooners. Young kids also love sleeping in it with the feeling to be like Robinson Crusoe. Try it: we are sure you will adopt it!
