On August 9th, we celebrated the official inauguration of Dajuma Terrace — a truly special day for a truly exceptional place. The event was a vibrant showcase of Balinese culture, featuring a delightful local buffet, traditional ringgit music, and the stunning backdrop of the Batukaru volcano.
Throughout the day, our open invitation welcomed partners, officials, guests and friends to explore the property. Attendees enjoyed the enchanting garden, admired the architecture made of traditional wood carvings, and took in the serene charm of the rice paddies. The perfect blend of Balinese culture, scenic beauty, and a warm, friendly atmosphere set the stage for a memorable celebration.

Last week, on saturday, Dajuma Terrace was adorned with vibrant decorations and filled with joyous laughter as it celebrated its religious blessing. The ceremony was led by Brahmane Ida Pandita Mpu Wiwekananda Tenaya from Gria Wana Kertha Wangi in Desa Juwuk Manis, whose sacred presence and chants set a reverent tone. All the staff of Dajuma Beach and Terrace participated with enthusiasm, their faces reflecting the significance of the occasion. Neighbours and friends gathered, contributing to the warm, communal atmosphere. Together, they prayed and offered gifts to the Gods, seeking their protection and blessings. Traditional Balinese music and dance added to the festive spirit, creating a lively backdrop. The air was fragrant with incense, symbolizing purification and connection to the divine. On the 1st of July, Puri Dajuma Terrace celebrated its grand opening, a momentous occasion that marked the end of three years of intense and dedicated work. The project was expertly overseen by our general manager, Alit, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in bringing this dream to life. A team of 20 highly skilled workers from Jawa, led by the diligent Muri and Selamat, worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was perfect.

The grand opening was even made more special by the premiere of a stunning video shot by David Muller, the Swiss FPV drone piloting vice-champion. David’s exceptional skills captured the essence of Puri Dajuma Terrace, highlighting the fabulous rice fields that surround the property. His breathtaking footage showcased the natural beauty of the area, providing a unique perspective that left everyone in awe.

Guests were treated to an immersive experience as they explored the newly opened terrace. The harmonious blend of traditional Balinese craftsmanship and modern amenities was evident in every corner, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the entire team. The lush rice fields provided a serene and picturesque backdrop, enhancing the sense of tranquility and natural beauty. The ceremony held in honor of Krisna, our colleague Erik’s son, for his 3-month anniversary was a vibrant celebration steeped in Balinese tradition. Friends and family gathered to mark this significant milestone, reflecting the community’s deep-rooted customs. The event was graced by the presence of Rindik musicians who usually perform to entertain the invited guests during the reception day and also to accompany the ceremony day. Its gentle tones are believed to invoke a sense of balance and harmony within the participants, connecting them spiritually with the natural world and the deities in Bali’s rich cultural tradition. Offerings of fruits, flowers, and rice were meticulously prepared, embodying gratitude and blessings. The elders imparted their wisdom and prayers, bestowing good fortune upon the young child. This 3-month ceremony was not just a family event but a communal celebration, highlighting the importance of cultural heritage in Bali. Long life to you Krisna!
