The famous “Day of Silence” called Nyepi in Bali, will take place this year on March 28th. Celebrating the New Year in the Saka calendar, this event is probably the most interesting in terms of Balinese traditions. All of the island’s inhabitants abide by a set of local rules, which brings all routine activities to a complete halt. Roads all over Bali are void of any traffic and nobody steps outside of their home premises. Village meeting halls known as ‘banjar’ and streets feature papier-mâché effigies called ogoh-ogoh, built throughout the weeks leading up to the Saka New Year.
On this unique occasion in the year, Dajuma offers a special package not to be missed:

Because of its orientation full West, Dajuma is the ideal place where to enjoy stunning sunsets while savoring a delicious cocktail prepared by our waiters. During sunsets, at low tide, the cape in front of Dajuma is often discovered and gives rise to an amazing spectacle where local families come to bathe (the famous “mandi mandi”) while fishermen are preparing their prahos for the night fishing. A rare moment of serenity to savor without limits!
Indonesia is the world’s third largest producer of cocoa. However, despite this privileged position, it is only recently that an excellent chocolate is produced locally. Among the producing regions, that of Jembrana in Bali is probably the most promising. A few steps from Dajuma, in the small village of Gumbrih, Putu after being trained in Macassar, decided to embark on a new chocolate factory. Working cooperatively with the village producers of cocoa beans, it produces a magnificent chocolate that delights the taste buds of our customers.
A local initiative we are happy and proud to help in our hotel supplies for our chocolate fondants and our little squares served with coffee, among others. In the picture Putu let us know how this machine mixes for 2 days cocoa and cocoa butter to make the most creamy chocolates. Good luck Putu!
With the growth of our 3 restaurants, it became necessary to choose a digital and friendly solution to take the orders with the objective to accelerate both the ordering and the cooking processes, diminish the waiting time for our guests and facilitate the work of our staff. This has been done last month with the Waiterio application: with a few clicks on a tablet, our waiters are now able to take an order in a few seconds which is then directly transmitted to the kitchen. Same increase of speed for the issuance of the invoice. On the picture our staff during the training session. Good luck guys!
My name is Aristide and I am only 6 months old.
My father loves surfing the Medewi wave near Dajuma but he is also taking good care of me.
What I love above all is to have a little nap on my surf board in the Bendega pool.
My father says that it will make me a good surfer in some years. Aahhh what a beautiful life!
Last week took place a happy event in the nice village of Gumbrih close to Dajuma: the wedding of our colleague Gusalit with the lovely Dian from Singaraja. According to the tradition, all Dajuma staff was invited in Gusalit’s family house to congratulate the young weds in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Congratulations again dear Gusalit and Dian !
Next door Dajuma land, directly on the beach, is the Pekutatan fishermen’ house where fishermen are used to meet and exchange their fishing every day. In front of the house a wall made from river stones was supposed to protect it from the sea, especially from full moon tides. The condition of the wall being more and more deteriorated, we decided to help the fishermen community by financing its complete renovation: a double protection by 2 walls especially shaped to stop the sea is currently under construction and should be completed shortly. A good way to start the new year!
